PlayermakerTMis a powerful foot-mounted IMU tracking system that captures Key performance indicators(KPIs). This system captures tactical, technical, and physical KPIs ranging from the total distance covered, work rate, passing networks, number of touches, and releases.
The system is set so you can capture data from both training and matches. Here is an example
I currently use Tableau software for football analytics, and this powerful software allows me to present all the data in a way that my players can understand. Here are the examples of performance analysis feedback dashboards that are possible to create when joining Tableau and the PlayermakerTM data.
Here’s an example of how to use a physical data dashboard in a performance analysis session. This is the type of data we get from the PlayermakerTM devices.
Disclaimer: The data shown in the pictures is dummy data.
Additionally, you can export XML files, which contain all the tracking data from a Technical/Tactical and physical perspective and time stamped, to be inserted into video coding platforms such as HUDL Sportscode, Angles, Coach Logic, and Nacsport. As we get all the data collected from coding the match and tracking data from the devices, we can have a look at how we can introduce this into our performance analysis set up.
Below is how the Playermaker XML file looks when inserted into Hudl Sportscode and Fulcrum Angles:
Below is an example of the passing network data we receive from PlayermakerTM
Using the XML file and exporting to csv.file to create more specific in-depth data in Tableau with the Tactical data (passing network) shown below
This is a great example of how new technologies can help our performance analysis set ups.
